(WSLS 10) - The Vinton Chamber holds the 2017 Senior Expo today. More than 70 vendors will set up, talking about their products and services, including assisted and nursing care centers, reverse mortgage companies and medical professionals offering screenings. The expo runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Vinton War Memorial.

The man charged with the stabbing death of an Anderson Audiology employee returns to court today for a progress review. Cyron Stokes was ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation. He faces a first degree murder charge in the death of Narrows resident Amy Shrader.

Police and economic development departments in Roanoke City and County will hold a Violence in the Workplace workshop today. Today's session will talk about threat assessment, security planning, response procedures and developing an emergency action plan. Part two is next week where businesses will work with police and fire to finalize their emergency action plans.

Amherst County holds a kick-off meeting tonight as it builds a branding and marketing plan. County leaders will hear your thoughts on the values and character that make Amherst County a special and unique place. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the County Public Hearing Room in Amherst.

The Salem School Board will meet tonight to approve its budget for next year. The $41.3 million plan provides $780,000 for pay raises, funds retirement system increases and increases the price of school lunches up to ten cents.

EZ Ramps Mobility Solutions holds a ribbon cutting and open house today. The company is moving into a larger facility on Hollins Road. The ribbon cutting is at noon with the open house running until 8 p.m. We featured the company in Built in the Blue Ridge in November.
