Update: Police search for Roanoke bank robbery suspect

Update:

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - An investigation is underway in Roanoke after a bank robbery.

According to Roanoke City police the robbery happened Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Hometown Bank on Franklin Road near K-Mart.

Police are looking for a suspect caught on surveillance video.  Poilice say the suspect is around 5'8" tall with a slim build. The money was stolen without presenting a weapon.

Police say no one was hurt.  Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Roanoke City Police tip line at 540-344-8500. Callers can remain anonymous.
