Hokies Defensive Line Reloads for 2017

Blacksburg (WSLS-10 SPORTS)- Spring football is all about learning, developing...and evaluating.

At Virginia Tech it is also about identifying the next stars to step up and fill some big shoes. As a unit the defensive line probably has the biggest shoes to fill.  Ken Ekanem, Woody Baron and Nigel Williams all departing.  The next generation of stars is hungry and ready to work.   Including 330 pound defensive tackle Tim Settle, and 295 pound defensive tackle Ricky Walker are both ready to step into leadership roles and impose their will--on upcoming opponents.

"It's time I've waited for my time to come up and it's and I always played my role and still play my role as the player I need to be and and hopefully I can execute to the level I need to tell the team win and do execute things we need to execute," explains defensive tackle Tim Settle.

"I'm more vocal now. Everybody's listening-coaches are noticing and they're happy I'm doing it.  And like you said hopefully the team will start listening and respecting it but but I feel more comfortable this year you know like I said it's my time," explains defensive tackle Ricky Walker.

The Hokies spring practice culminates with the spring game on April 22nd.
