Danville Police chief discussing gun theft in the city

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - Happening today, the Danville Police chief will discuss the ongoing issue with gun thefts.

Many of these stolen weapons come from unsecured vehicles, and police say it's impacting crime in the area.

Back in November, the department announced that more than 30 guns had been stolen within three months.

Police say nine of the gun thefts were taken from cars.

This comes as Danville leaders work to reduce violence in the city.
