70-year-old man charged with robbing a Lynchburg Wendy's

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - The Lynchburg Police Department has charged a 70-year-old man in connection with an armed robbery at Wendy's last June.

On Friday, police arrested Rasheed Mojo Ali, of Lynchburg and charged him with armed robbery, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, wearing a mask in public and possession of a stolen firearm.

On June 2, 2016 at 9:06 p.m., police responded to an armed robbery at the Wendy's at 2510 Memorial Avenue in Lynchburg. It was reported that the suspect entered the business and demanded money from the register, while also holding a handgun.

Police are still attempting to locate a maroon sedan which appears to be a mid-90s GM product involved in the robbery.

Ali is being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
