Rooms will be available for students in the newly renovated historic Boxley Building on Jefferson Street in downtown Roanoke, a project being completed by Hist:Re Partners LLC of Roanoke, Virginia.

With room and board available for 24 full-time students, North Cross School will be able to house current and attract new boarding students in grades 9-12; international students with F-1 visas and regional students wishing to attend and graduate from North Cross School.

Currently, the 28 international students from seven countries at North Cross reside with host families.

North Cross does not plan to expand its international program; however, it is important to highlight that this boarding option makes North Cross an attractive option not only to international students, but also to regional families in Virginia, West Virginia, and to other families desiring a rigorous, comprehensive, and competitively priced independent school educational experience.

Residential life at the Boxley Building will standardize the boarding experience for international and domestic boarding students.  Each dormitory room will have an attractive, fully-furnished living/study area separate from its bedroom and each will have its own full bathroom.  Compared with dorms at other schools, these rooms will provide more spacious floor plans.  The dormitory will have a private entrance, be fully secured, and faculty and staff will reside on floors with students to provide guidance and supervision during the week and on weekends.
