Lynchburg Police investigating reported car theft

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - Police are investigating after a car was reported stolen in Lynchburg.

Police received the report from a resident of the Maple Ridge Apartments at 600 Reusens Road in Lynchburg.

The stolen car is described as a silver 2012 Chrysler 200 with a Pennsylvania license plate. Police say Several stickers are one the rear window including, “Don’t Tread On Me.”

The owners of the car say they were in the process of moving and had loaded several personal items as well as two handguns into the car while it was parked in front of their apartment.

Police say the car was taken at some point overnight between March 16 and the morning of March 17. The owner says there were no keys in the vehicle and the doors were locked at the time it was taken.
