Housing market projected to continue growth for Roanoke Valley

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Local realtors say there is steady growth in sales in the Roanoke Valley and they're projecting it will continue.

President of Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors Kathy Chandler attributes this to consumer's feeling more confident in the steadiness of the growth.

This year, 599 homes were sold which is the highest number since 2007.

Chandler projects the housing market to continue the momentum.

"It will continue to be an aggressive season, if homes are priced well, staged well, they are selling within days sometimes hours, so the buyers are out there. they are ready," says Chandler.

Chandler says the average sale price is $202,000.
