Round Town: basketball and theater

(WSLS 10) - Go for a run and help local students at the 4th annual Backpack Run. It's a fundraiser for the Roanoke County Public Schools Education Foundation. There's a 2.5K and 5K walk/run. Registration starts at $20 for individuals. The run begins Saturday at 9 a.m. at Green Hill Park.

Learn which food and wine goes best together at Pairapalooza. Local chefs and wineries will help you enhance the flavor of some of your favorite foods. It's Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Patrick Henry Ballroom in Roanoke.

The Salem Civic Center is home to NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship. There are semi-final games Friday night at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The championship game is Saturday at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 for one day and $25 for a two day pass.

MasterWorx Community Theater presents Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. It's a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, his eleven brothers and the coat of many colors. There are shows, tonight, Friday night and Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Rustburg High School. Tickets are $10.

See Beauty and the Beast on stage this weekend. More than 60 students from Glenvar Middle and High Schools and Cave Spring High School will perform. The shows are a Glenvar High School at 7 p.m. tonight, Friday and Saturday with a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. Students get in for $5 with adults for $7.
