One arrested, another wanted in connection to Amherst County murder

AMHERST COUNTY (WSLS 10) - One man has been arrested and the Amherst County Sheriff's Office is searching for another man in connection to a homicide last October.

The Lynchburg Police Department assisted the sheriff's office with apprehending Floyd Alex Archie Jr., 18, of Lynchburg, at a residence on Early Street in Lynchburg on Thursday morning.

He is charged with second-degree murder for the October 25, 2016 murder of Troy Tyrone Roberson, 41, of Spout Springs.

Archie was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Amherst Adult Detention Center where he is being held without bond.

In addition, the sheriff's office is searching for 19-year-old Rodney Andrew Hamlette, of Lynchburg, who is wanted for second-degree murder in the same case and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Previously, 18-year-old Kaitlyn Webber was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in this case.
