Massive storm causes flight delays and cancellations

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - A massive winter storm continues to batter the Northeast Tuesday night.

Some areas could see more than 2 feet of snow before it's all over.

The impact of the storm is still being felt by passengers at the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport.

Many flights were canceled to major airports in Washington D.C., New York City and Philadelphia.

Passengers headed to Atlanta and Cincinnati waited several hours before boarding.

"I was surprised because we didn't have snow here in Roanoke and there's not much snow in Cincinnati where I'm going so I thought everything would be fine," says traveler, Aditi Silversteen of Bedford.

Spokesperson, Brad Boettcher of ROA says, if you are traveling in the next few days, be sure to check with your carrier on your flight schedule.
