Martinsville PD, U.S. Marshal Service investigating shooting

MARTINSVILLE (WSLS 10) - The Martinsville Police Department and the U.S. Marshal Service are investigating a Monday night shooting.

According to the police department, officers responded to the 200 block of Moss St. around 10 p.m. Monday for a call about a disturbance.

When they arrived, they were told that an adult man had been taken to Memorial Hospital in Martinsville to be treated for a gunshot wound.

He was later taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina.

The man suffered a single, non-life threatening gunshot to the torso according to the police department.

Several witnesses are cooperating.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 20's or 30's with shoulder length dreadlocks which he may have shaved off Tuesday and is possibly driving a white Lexus.
