Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport prepares for new jet bridges

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) -  The Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport gets ready for the arrival of new jet bridges.

Right now, there are four bridges connecting airport terminals to the plane. All are being replaced.

The airport is also getting an additional bridge, bringing the total number to five.

"They are heated and air conditioned, so it's just going to be a nicer customer experience, they won't have to walk across the ramp to board or deplane the aircraft, it's protective from the weather as well," says Boettcher.

He says the first new jet bridge is expected to arrive in about two weeks.
