(WSLS 10) - The owner of a massage parlor in Radford, who is charged with sexual battery, will be in circuit court today. According to court records, David Flanagan, Jr. faces more than 55 counts of sexual battery and other charges. He was arrested in December.

Today is the deadline to submit your entries for the Roanoke Valley SPCA Pet Hero awards. Awards will be given in four categories, including, human service, active duty, heroic and everyday pet hero. Judges will review the entries and announce the category winners at the SPCA's Tail Chaser 5K on March 25th.

Today is the deadline to submit an application to serve on the Roanoke City School Board. Two current members are not eligible for reappointment. City Council will appoint people to fill the two positions for a three year term starting on July 1st.

Kindergarten registration takes place today in Danville and Pittsylvania County. Kids who turn five before September 30th must start this fall. You will need your ID and the child's birth certificate, proof of residency and immunization records.

The Extreme Appalachia conference continues today at Virginia Tech. Twelve hundred people are expected to attend the four day event that explores the region's intellectual and cultural programs, music, films and more. The conference runs through Sunday.

Police chiefs from Roanoke, Salem, Vinton and Roanoke County will announce a new regional Sober on All Roads Task Force. An analysis of alcohol related crashes reveal common problems on Interstates 81 and 581 and Highways 11, 221, 460 and 419. The DMV awarded a Highway Safety Project grant for the project. This is the first regional task force in Virginia.

The Salem-Roanoke County Chamber holds its annual gala tonight. The chamber will give out several awards before the night's entertainment begins. The A-Town, A List" will perform. Tickets for the event are $85.
