CRAIGSVILLE, Va. (AP) - A 52-year-old man is in jail after he was caught with $27,000 worth of methamphetamines on the grounds of a Craigsville elementary school.
The News Leader reports (http://bit.ly/2n1TYzI) that Barry Spradlin has been charged with possession with intent to distribute drugs on school grounds, and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.

A search warrant says police were investigating a "drug-related child abuse" claim made in late February and responded to the Craigsville Elementary School. The responding officers spoke to Spradlin, searched his car and found a half-pound of methamphetamines hidden under the hood. Police say they also seized $6,000 in cash and ammunition from Spradlin's home.
Spradlin is being held at Middle River Regional Jail.
