LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - Visitors' first impressions of Poplar Forest could soon be more like how Thomas Jefferson saw his retreat home.
The landmark is asking the city of Lynchburg for a conditional use permit to build a new entrance along Enterprise Drive in Wyndhurst.
A road from there would guide tourists to the Bedford County site, without taking them through a residential neighborhood.
The request goes before the planning commission next month. If approved, the Lynchburg City Council could vote in May.
