ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - The death of Corrina Brown, a Patrick Henry High School student and Dairy Queen employee, has left many in disbelief.
"It all happened so fast in such a short amount of time it's going to take a bit to set in," said Dairy Queen manager Joseph Dawson.
Police say Corrina was one of three people inside a minivan involved in a collision with a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Orange Avenue and Plantation Road on Friday night.
All three people inside the minivan were taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where Corrina was pronounced dead later that night.
"So sad. I called to the store to see what happened. They told me, it just broke my heart," said Erica Newby who works at Dairy Queen.
Newby, who had been working with Corrina for several months, described Corrina as fun, friendly, and very outgoing.
Newby even knew teen's favorite ice-cream, "Every time we already knew what she wanted it was Oreo Oreo Oreo!"
"She was that person who always smiled and have a good time so she always stuck out," continued Dawson.
WSLS 10 reached out to her family, but did not receive a response.
Her family at Dairy Queen; however, didn't hold back their love for Corrina.
"She will be missed, she'll always be part of the family at the Dairy Queen," said Dawson.
