Williamson Road getting ready for Restaurant Week 2017

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Williamson Road in Roanoke is getting ready for its fourth restaurant week.

More than 20 eateries along the stretch will offer specials and discounted food menus not usually offered year round. Viet-Sub has taken part every year as a way to attract new customers. The shop will offer its most popular sub combo for less.

The Williamson Road Area Business Association will use Facebook to get more participants.

"We are putting out a contest question. Then our group of judges will judge the best answer to that question. And that person will win a $20 dollar gift card to one of the participating restaurants," said Wendy Jones of the Williamson Road Area Business Association.

"The thing I like the most is you have a diverse cuisine. You have us, the Cuban restaurant, Bethlehem. It's almost like a melting pot." said Tu Doan, Owner of the Viet-Sub.

The association typically offers two restaurant weeks a year but March 6 through 12 will be the only one for 2017.
