"Shortly before we engaged as a country in World War One, we broke ground," said Pastor Alexander MacPhail. "We said as an act of courage and faith we were going to be a church here and I consider it part of the DNA of this church to be people of courage."

Pastor MacPhail said one of the ways the church shows that courage is by accepting anyone of any race or sexual orientation into its congregation.

Christ Episcopal Church will host more events throughout the year to celebrate the milestone.
