Roanoke Diversity Center celebrates expansion

ROANOKE (WSLS10) –  The Roanoke Diversity Center is celebrating a renovation that has more than doubled its size.

The grand reopening Saturday featured live music and tours through the new space.

The center now boasts one of the largest libraries of LGBT literature in the country, and more space for its operations.

Daniel Seglowski, of the Roanoke Diversity Center, said, “This space right here has actually allowed us to kind of handle some administrative functions, as well as offer simultaneous programming, so we can have a support group in the original room while conducting open hours in this room.”

The center says at the moment it is serving more than 4,000 people in Roanoke every year and it expects to see that number grow.
