Northside Boys advance to Region Final

ROANOKE (WSLS 10 SPORTS) -

In a tightly contested 3A West region on the girls side, Brookville and Hidden Valley will face off in the Championship game on Friday night. The Bees surged past Magna Vista in the four quarter to secure a 46-29 victory. Hidden Valley trailed by nine in the second quarter to Broadway, but they ended the game on an 11-3 run to get a 44-40 win.

Over in the 1A ranks George Wythe wins easily over Eastside 69-33 to advance to the Championship game on Saturday. Their opponent will be the 2016 State Runner-Up in Parry McCluer. The Fighting Blues took down Honaker 61-52.

On the boys side of the 3A West, the Northside Vikings advance to the Championship after defeating Western Albemarle 62-48. Spotswood beat Heritage 74-58 and will play the Vikings on Friday night.

In the 2A West ranks, Dan River beat Gate City 96-84 despite a 64 point performance by the Blue Devils Mac McClung. They will face Richlands for the Championship on Saturday.

In the VIC Tournament North Cross will face Hargrave for the Championship on Saturday at Roanoke College.
