PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY (WSLS 10) - The Pittsylvania County Sheriffs Office served multiple arrest warrants over the past two weeks. Officers say after a lengthy investigation, a residential burglary ring was identified. Ricky Dean Tate Jr, James Ricky Pruitt Jr, Ronald Wayne Patterson Jr, Cristy Trottier, Jeffery Scott Smith, Robert Dalton, Ryan Compton, and Angie Wood were all charged in connection to burglaries that occurred in December 2016 and January 2017 in the Smith Mountain lake road area of Pittsylvania County.
According to officers, over $25,000 worth of items were taken from various homes during the time frame, items included electronics, jewelry, motor vehicles, firearms, tools, yard equipment and other items. This was a joint investigation with the Franklin County Sheriffs office, where some of these same individuals are facing similar charges in their jurisdiction.

Additional charges in these incidents are pending and are expected. Numerous search warrants were conducted over the course of this investigation and additional persons are expected to face charges with their involvement in these incidents. Ryan Lee Compton: 3 charges of B&E, 3 charges of Grand Larceny
James Ricky Pruitt: 4 charges of B&E, 4 charges of Grand Larceny, 1 charge of Theft of a Motor Vehicle
Cristie Trottier: 2 charges of B&E, 2 charges of Grand Larceny, 1 charge of Theft of a Motor Vehicle
Ronald Patterson Jr.: 2 charges of B&E, 2 charges of Grand Larceny, 1 charge of Theft of a Motor Vehicle
Jeffrey Scott Smith: 2 charges of B&E, 2 charges of Grand Larceny, 1 charge of Theft of a Motor Vehicles
Robert Lee Dalton: 1 charge of Possession/Obtaining Stolen Property
Franklin County has, also, obtained a total of 24 Felony Warrants in addition to those obtained by Pittsylvania County.
