Kidnappers of North Carolina boy arrested in Pulaski County

PULASKI COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Four people, who police say were hired to kidnap a young North Carolina boy, are in jail this morning after being arrested in Pulaski County.

Lorraine Colpitts, Michael Warman, Mickey Mitton and Tommy Winslow are charged with felony restraint and breaking and entering.

The father, Ricky Thomas was arrested yesterday in Massachusetts. He faces similar charges.

The group was arrested after telling officers they were wanted in North Carolina.

Police say they, along with the boy's father, went to the mother and grandmother's home and took the boy.

He was zip-cuffed in the van. Police say that the boy's mother, Candace Mayberry, picked him up yesterday in Pulaski to take him home.

Mayberry said, "Never did I think something like this would happen, you know? What was done to my son, there's no justification for it whatsoever."

Mayberry says she still does not feel safe in her own home.

The father will be charged with conspiracy to commit felony restraint and felony breaking and entering.
