Franklin Co Wins Title as Conference Tournaments Conclude

Roanoke (WSLS SPORTS) – High school basketball conference finals wrapped up Friday night.

In girls hoops, Magna Vista edged Lord Botetourt to 46-40 to capture the Conference 31 title. In conference 32, Hidden Valley avenged a regular season loss to Abingdon with a 75-61 victory in the championship game. Gretna outlasted Chatham 64-57 to take home the Conference 37 trophy. Conference 38 championship game went to Floyd County, with a 51-47 win over Martinsville. In 1A West, Conference 45 title match, Parry McCluer cruised past Narrows with a final score of 71-52. The George Wythe girls team topped Fort Chiswell in a close one for Conference 46 bragging rights.

On the boys side, in Conference 16, Albemarle defeated Patrick Henry 55-44.  In Conference 31, Northside rolled past Alleghany 87-63, while Hidden Valley won the Conference 32 championship game over Blacksburg 50-39. Dan River owns Conference 37 with a 66-50 victory over Chatham. Glenvar topped Martinsville 49-46 in overtime for the Conference 38 crown. Radford beat Covington 46-31 to win Conference 45. Conference 46 belonged to George Wythe after a 57-53 win over Chilhowie.
