18-year-old wanted in connection to Fairfax abduction case arrested in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - Lynchburg police arrested the man wanted in connection with a previously missing girl and her child.

On Monday, at about 4:40 p.m. Lynchburg police assisted the Fairfax County Police Department with the arrest of 18-year-old Jose Ivan Castillo-Rivas.

Detectives located Rivas' vehicle, a 2004 green Nissan Armada, at the Extended Stay Hotel on University Boulevard. With the assistance of other LPD officers, several rooms were checked and Rivas was located and arrested without incident.

He was arrested on the following Fairfax County charges:

• Abduction

• Possession of a Controlled Substance

• Felony Obstruction

• Misdemeanor Capias for Assault and Battery

• Misdemeanor Protective Order Violation

His vehicle was towed back to Fairfax County by the Fairfax County Police Department.

Rivas is believed to be connected to the disappearance of 16-year-old Lizzy Rivera Colindres, and baby Aidan. Those two were returned home safely late Saturday night after missing for more than a month.

Rivas is the child's father.
