DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - WSLS 10's Colter Anstaett be taking a look at intersections in Danville and in Martinsville.
Both intersections saw more crashes than any other last year.
In Danville, the intersection of Piedmont Drive and Mount Cross Road had claimed that title since 2013 but in 2016 it was another intersection along Piedmont Drive that took over the top spot.
This is not the first time though that the intersection has been at the top.
If you're familiar with Martinsville, you might guess that the intersection of Commonwealth Boulevard and Market Street racked up the most crashes. But, that's not necessarily unexpected.
Captain Robert Fincher with the Martinsville Police Department said, "The intersection with the most accidents was Commonwealth and Market Street...It is our most frequently traveled intersection. Because there's more cars, percentage wise you have a greater chance of having an accident there."
Now, that said both cities are also working to make the intersections safer.
