Danville house fire displaces 5 adults, 2 dogs

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - Five adults and two dogs are displaced after a house fire in Danville.

According to the Danville Fire Department, crews were called the home around 8:45 a.m. Sunday on Wendell Scott Drive.

When crews arrived, all five people were out of the house. Crews found a dog under a bed in the back bedroom. The dog was not hurt.

The Fire Marshal's Office determined the fire was caused by unattended cooking.

The remainder of the house suffered minor smoke damage.

The Red Cross is assisting the five adults and two dogs.
