Liberty University monitoring flu outbreak on campus

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) -Liberty University officials are monitoring the spread of influenza on campus.  According to a release from Len Stevens, Executive Director of External Communications for Liberty University, there is a significant number of reported flu cases.

"We do not have an epidemic," the release stated.  "However, enough people have fallen ill that the university is taking steps to prevent further spread."

The university is providing hand sanitizer, educating and encouraging people in ways to prevent the spread of germs, and taking other preventive measures.  At this time, less than 1% of students at Liberty University have been diagnosed with the flu.
