Lynchburg's Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney announces run for top seat

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - Lynchburg's deputy Commonwealth's Attorney is running for the top job.

Bethany Harrison says she will seek the Republican nomination for Lynchburg Commonwealth's Attorney.

She made the announcement at a news conference this morning and on Facebook.

Harrison joined the office as an assistant prosecutor in 2006 and became deputy in 2015.

Current Commonwealth's Attorney Mike Doucette is endorsing Harrison.

She will oppose Tim Griffin in the Republican primary in June.
