(WSLS 10) - A Pulaski woman will be sentenced today in connection with injuries her eight month old daughter received while in her care. Tuesday Manning entered an Alford Plea in court in August on charges of aggravated malicious wounding and malicious wounding. According to search warrants, eight month old Ava Edwards suffered brain bleeding and arm fractures as well as a possible skull fracture in June of 2015. Manning told investigators that Ava fell off of a diaper changing table. Manning faces a maximum sentence of life in prison plus 20 years.

The Salem-Roanoke County Chamber holds its 2017 Business Showcase today. It is an opportunity for local businesses to showcase their products and services and meet other professionals in the community. The showcase starts at 4 p.m. at the Salem Civic Center.

The City of Lynchburg holds an Enterprise Zone workshop today. Business owners will get an overview of the Enterprise Zone, learn how to qualify and the benefits.

Lynchburg City Council and the School Board will hold a joint meeting tonight. The groups will work to strengthen collaboration and narrowing the achievement gap. The meeting begins at 5:30 at the Lynchburg Library's Community Meeting Room.

The Roanoke County Board of Supervisors and Roanoke County School Board will hold a joint meeting tonight. They will discuss demographic data and the school's Capital Improvement Program request for the next ten years.

The MaxPreps Tour of Champions makes a stop in Salem tonight. Salem High School is one of 50 schools being honored this year after the football team won 13 consecutive victories and and the state 4A title. The tour, presented by the Army National Guard, honors the top scholastic teams each year. The trophy presentation takes place at halftime of tonight's boys basketball game. This is the second year in a row that Salem High School has been honored.
