AMHERST COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Deputies have arrested and charged a 52-year-old Madison Heights man after an incident this weekend.
The Amherst County Sheriff's Office arrested Michael Lance Wedekind and charged him with abduction, malicious wounding, and two counts of object sexual penetration related to the incident.
On Sunday at about 9:15 a.m., deputies responded to an assault off of Route 163 Business in Madison Heights. Upon arriving on scene deputies say they found a woman, an acquaintance of Wedekind, with numerous facial and bodily injuries. The incident had taken place over the course of Saturday evening into Sunday morning. She was transported for medical treatment and has since been released.
He was taken into custody Sunday evening and transported to the Amherst Adult Detention Center, where he is being held with no bond.
