UPDATE: Police say the man who had been injured in a shooting is Eric Allen Wade Jr.
Investigators say he told them he was engaging in a drug sale on Melrose Avenue when he was shot and some friends drove him to the hospital.
At this point, no crime scene has been located and no arrests have been made.
The investigation is ongoing.
ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Police in Roanoke are investigating after a man was shot overnight.
Police say he walked into Roanoke Memorial Hospital Thursday night at 11:57 p.m. Police are yet not sure where the shooting took place.
Police performed a traffic stop on Salem Avenue related to the case.
The man's injuries do not seem to be life-threatening according to police.
