Danville Police investigate two overnight armed robberies

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - Police are investigating after two robberies took place in Danville Monday night.

The first happened at about 9:15 p.m. in the 1400 block of Piney Forest Road.

The clerk says a black man had entered the store, pointed a gun at him and demanded money. The clerk gave him an undetermined amount of money and the suspect ran away.

Police say the suspect was wearing a black hoodie and black pants.  No shots were fired and no one was injured.

The second robbery happened at about 10:20 p.m. in the 3300 block of Riverside Drive.

The victim reported that a black man had entered the store,  pointed a gun at him and demanded money.  The victim gave him an undetermined amount of money and his personal cell phone and the suspect fled the scene.

Police say the suspect was wearing a green coat. The victims' cell phone was recovered near Westover and Piedmont Drive. No shots were fired and no one was injured.
