Albemarle County man granted full pardon

ALBEMARLE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A man once convicted in connection with a Central Virginia double murder is fully pardoned.

Friday, Robert Davis of Albemarle County removed the monitoring device that was strapped to his ankle since leaving prison.

The official paperwork from the state arrived over the weekend.

Davis spent 13 years in prison before Governor Terry McAuliffe granted him a conditional pardon last year.

Davis said, "I don't have any restraints now, I can go where I want, I can do whatever I want to do, I don't have to have an ankle bracelet on, tethering me to anybody, and yeah, changes everything about my day to day life."

Davis was one of three neighborhood teens convicted in a double murder from February 2003.

He said his false confession was coerced during a six-hour interrogation.
