Rail Yard Dawgs defeat Fireantz 4-2

ROANOKE (WSLS 10 SPORTS) -

The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs jumped out to a commanding 3-0 lead and never looked back, as they win over the Fayetteville Fireantz Saturday night 4-2.

With the win the team snapped an eight game losing streak. Goalie Ryan De Melo had a big night in the third period for the Dawgs, blocking 11 of 12 shots that he faced. Roanoke improved to 5-10-2 with the win and Fayetteville dropped to 8-8-1.

The team also held its first ever Teddy Bear Toss. Following the teams first goal, fans tossed teddy bears onto the ice which will be donated to the local children's hospitals.
