Man turns himself in after deadly Rockbridge County crash

ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY (WSLS 10) – The driver of the car that killed a three month old girl during a crash has turned himself in.

Virginia State Police said Brandon Antonio Easterling, 27, has been charged with one count of second degree murder and two counts of reckless endangerment.

Police obtained warrants for Easterling on Thursday December 15th.

Easterling turned himself in at the Rockbridge County Jail that same day, according to police.

The single vehicle crash happened on Interstate 81 northbound at the 204.6 mile maker just before 4 a.m. on December 4th.

Police said Easterling lost control of his 2000 Chevrolet Lumina, ran off the road, hit a ditch and overturned several times.

Three month old Brooklyn Breeden was transported to the hospital where she later died. Easterling and a three year old boy were also transported for injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
