Man found dead in Lynchburg, sudden death investigation underway

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) – A sudden death investigation is underway after a man was found dead in Lynchburg.

Lynchburg Police said officers responded to a report of man lying on the sidewalk before 6:30 Friday morning.

Investigators found Kevin Carmine Barnett, 38, of Amherst, on the sidewalk in the 300 block of Euclid Avenue, close to the intersection of Euclid and St. Augustine Street.

The body will be taken to the Roanoke Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, according to police.

A preliminary investigation does not suggest foul play was involved.
