Hokies Look To Keep Focus Over Holiday Season

Blacksburg (WSLS-10 SPORTS)- The Hokies are back on the hardwoods Saturday after a week off for finals. The next test is The Citadel at Cassell. Virginia Tech's last outing was a 5 point win over Mississippi. It was the Hokies third win over a power 5 conference team as they've run out to an 8-1 early season start.

Virgnia Tech has defeated Nebraska, Michigan and Missisippi..with their only loss to Texas A & M.

They've got a series of three non-conference home games over the holidays before nationally ranked Duke comes in on New Year's eve day.

So the focus now--is to not let up.

"Just keep coming to work and every day. Guys keep on coming to the gym extra-- I just want to really over this finals period then after school just really got to get in the gym is keep my working and stay steady and grounded, taking it one game at a time, says senior Zach LeDay.

"Just gonna prepare like a we have been preparing for every game.  Keep working out and resting up our bodies cause a lot of us are a little banged up and sore but will be fine," says sophomore guard Chris Clarke.

"Everybody has to  just continue to work every day.  We know that you know that we gotta work to be successful and everybody is very grounded about everything you know. We got Buzz--- he's always grinding and humble and it keeps us the same, so you know we got to work every day we see him and he knows he has to work when he sees us," says Hokies guard Ahmed Hill.

The Hokies tip against The Citadel on Saturday at 1pm.
