Blacksburg (WSLS-10 SPORTS)- The Virginia Tech women's basketball team is the surprise you didn't see coming. With coach Kenny Brooks in his first season there understandably was an expectation that this would be a transition season. But at 10-0. and now ranked 24th in the nation it now feels like it very well could be something more than that.
"It's really exciting it all comes from their coach is having so much confidence in us the style of play is free-flowing so we're just reacting off the defense and I think we have so much trust with each other and you know we always try trust that we're going to have each other's back so I think we take a lot of pride that Coach Brooks and the coaching staff that they are our coaches and we just want to play well for each other, explains Hokies Forward Regan Magarity.
"What you can't measure real quickly is the heart of these kids and what they displayed and what they've shown to me. Their willingness to be receptive to any kind of change and to really dive in and just really believe in what we were saying and then when you get some success it kind of validates the hard work that you've had. But I've been very pleased with how quickly they've caught on and sacrificed for each other and I think that's the big reason we've had some success," says head coach Kenny Brooks.
The Hokies next challenge is at Auburn this Sunday. The Tigers are 7-2 overall.
