Round Town: holiday cheer

(WSLS 10) - Head to downtown Roanoke Friday night for the final week of Dickens of a Christmas. Bring your furry friend for the Pet Costume Contest. Registration starts at 5:30 with the contest at 6:30. I will serve as one of the judges. Also, the Snow Zone returns. Snow will cover Salem Avenue in front of the Taubman Museum of Art.

The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs play at home on Saturday night. Wear your ugliest sweater and snap a picture of yourself at the game. Upload that picture to the team's facebook page and you could win up to $500. The game begins at 7:05 p.m.

Salem Stadium is home to the Stagg Bowl. The University of Wisconsin Osh Kosh will take on Mary Hardin-Baylor for the Division III Title. The game begins at 7 p.m. on Friday. Admission is $15 at the gate.

Take the family to Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for holiday festivities with Father Christmas. In addition to a visit from 19th century Santa Claus, you can take part in cooking demonstrations and craft activities for the kids, where they can make holiday decorations.
