Poll: How Virginia voters view the current and future president

HAMDEN Connecticut. (WSLS 10) - A new poll takes a look at how Virginians view the current and future president.

According to Quinnipiac University, at 59 percent, a majority of Virginia voters approve of president Obama's job performance.

With a previous approval of 52 percent, that is the highest grade the president has ever received in the Old Dominion.

The poll also found that 55 percent are optimistic about the next four years with Donald Trump as the Commander-in-Chief.

Despite the optimism, Trump received a 39 percent favorability rating.

The polls also found that Virginia voters are divided on the issue of flag-burning as a form of political protest.

48 percent say it should be legal.
