More participants needed for Tim Tebow's Night to Shine in Roanoke

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Tim Tebow has recently made headlines for his efforts on the baseball field, but what he's doing off the field is making a difference in lives around the world.

Every year, the Tim Tebow Foundation sponsors Night to Shine. It's a prom for people with special needs.

Several area churches are uniting, hoping to get enough participants signed up to host the event in 2017.

The planning committee needs 75 participants committed to attend the February 10 prom by December 31.

If that number isn't reached, the event benefitting special needs teens and adults will not happen.

Right now 41 participants are signed up.
