ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - The Roanoke Valley SPCA has once again kicked off its Home for the Holidays foster program. This program allows approved families to open their homes for about a week around Christmas so that adoptable pets get love over the holidays.

Would you like to foster a cat or dog around the holidays and show them the love and joy of a family during this magical season? Pick up is and return dates can be arranged by the SPCA's foster coordinator and are based on the pets need, your schedule and the hours here at the shelter.

Should you fall in love with your foster pets, you even get "dibs" on adopting their new furry family member. To sign up and share the love, contact Amber Miller, Foster Coordinator, at AMiller@rvspca.org or (540) 339-9505.

Each year the Roanoke Valley SPCA helps pets find furever homes to call their own. While waiting to be adopted, each animal receives a medical checkup and age-appropriate vaccinations, is spayed or neutered, and micro-chipped. Please join us as we celebrate our mission to end homelessness for cats and dogs, and to improve the quality of life for animals and the people they touch in the Roanoke Valley!
