Bedford County students provide gifts for children

BEDFORD (WSLS 10) – The Bedford Science and Technology Center looks more like Santa’s workshop, with students receiving gifts ready for local children.

The students held a wrapping party on Wednesday morning. The Bedford County Department of Social Services provided the school with a list of children, their sizes and what they like.

Classes then bring in gifts or collect money and go shopping.

“For us to be able to give back those opportunities that other students in the community might not have, just giving them a good Christmas, it really makes us feel good and it’s an amazing opportunity we get to help with.”, said Mackinzy Wiseman, a BSTC student.

Social Services will deliver the gifts to the families, to keep the identities of the children confidential.
