Canadian company to open Henry County factory, creating 50 jobs

HENRY COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Fifty new jobs are coming to Henry County.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe was in Henry County on Tuesday afternoon to announce that the Canadian-based company Novatech is opening its first factory in the U.S. in the county.

The company makes doors, as well as door glass and screens.

Novatech will be moving into a 100,000-square-foot building which has been empty for the last five years.

McAuliffe said Tuesday's announcement is a testament to the state's ability to compete for jobs globally and to the workforce in Southside.

"At the end of the day," McAuliffe emphasized, "you cannot recruit businesses unless you can guarantee businesses that they are going to have a good workforce for many years to come."

The company is currently accepting applications for the jobs.
