Finishing touches put on WSLS 10 Home for the Holidays

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - It's down to the details at the Home for the Holidays build.

"Right now, we're just doing all the finishing touches. We're just trying to look around to make sure we've caught all the flaws," said Habitat For Humanity volunteer coordinator Susan Morris.

She's touching up around the home as it nears completion.

"Floors are in. We just finished the plumbing today, so we're just moving right along," continued Morris.

Things are moving along and ahead of schedule.

"We've had a tremendous amount of help. We've had regular volunteers and of course, the sponsors that have come in to help us. So we've been able to get a lot done," explained Morris

Insulation was being blown into the attic on Monday. The remaining appliances are ready to be put in as well.

"We are coming up on the end of it, so were relieved in that sense, but we just want to make sure everything is done really well," Morris said.

The last steps will be back outside later this week as the landscaping will be done to give the Home for the Holidays home even more curb appeal.

The keys will be handed over to the Hopkins family on Thursday when the home is dedicated.
