Staunton River student charged for Facebook post

BEDFORD COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A Bedford County Sheriff's school resource officer arrested a Staunton River High School student on Friday morning for making a social media post about a gun at the school.

Joshua D. Amos, 18, made a post saying "he's got a gun" on the Bedford County Public School's Facebook page as the people were gathered to send off the school's football team to the state championship game on Saturday at William and Mary, according to the sheriff's office.

After a short investigation, it was determined that a gun was not on campus and no students were in danger.

Amos was taken into custody and taken to the Bedford Adult Detention Center.

He was charged with disorderly conduct and released on an unsecured bond.
