Christiansburg Police Department collects donations for shelter animals

CHRISTIANSBURG (WSLS 10) - The Christiansburg Police Department is working to help Montgomery County shelter animals transition into their new temporary home.

The police department is collecting supplies that will go with the dogs and cats when they move into the new $4.3 million adoption center.

Officers are asking for things like beds, toys and food. They have a Christmas tree at the station with each dog that needs to be sponsored and adopted. The collection goes until December 22.

The new adoption center will have room for 50 dogs and 60 cats.
