DANVILLE (WSLS 10) – God’s Pit Crew received word on Thursday afternoon from the Emergency Services Director for Sevier County, Tennessee. The director stated that at this time, they have not made enough progress, since the wildfire disaster this week, to manage the massive number of volunteer organizations who are wanting to provide assistance to the fire victims.

The local director also stated that he is so appreciative and grateful for everyone who is offering assistance, but at this time, no entry to the affected areas will be allowed.

God’s Pit Crew continues to stand ready to respond if and when assistance is needed.

For those who would like to make an impact and help the thousands of people who are affected by this tragic event, there are several ways to help:

  • You can make a monetary gift online by visiting www.godspitcrew.org, by calling our warehouse at 434-836-4472, or by mailing in your contribution to our warehouse, located at 2499 North Main Street, Danville, Virginia 24540.
    • Monetary gifts will go towards helping cover the cost of the fuel it takes to travel to Gatlinburg and will go to purchasing Blessing Bucket items. When making a contribution towards this cause, please specify that your donation is for the Tennessee Wildfire Response.
  • There will also be a collection site at the Christiansburg Wal-Mart, this Saturday, December 3, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Items for Blessing Buckets will be collected at this location.
