ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Virginia and the Roanoke Police Department come together to promote their mentoring program. "Bigs in Blue" pairs local officers with kids at the Oliver Hill Mentoring Program to help improve police-community relationships. The program has been in place in Roanoke for three years and is expected to begin nationwide in January.
Teen members of the Young Entrepreneurs' Academy and students from Danville Community College will share business ideas at the Small Business Fair. Last year, more than fifty current and aspiring entrepreneurs participated presenting ideas in a trade show format.

There's a public hearing about raising water rates and fees in Botetourt County for customers of the Central Water Company. The State Corporation Commission has sessions at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Greenfield Education and Training Center in Daleville. The hearing will continue in Richmond on Tuesday.
Good Samaritan Hospice celebrates the lives of loved ones through its annual Love Light Tree program, which supports end-of-life care in the Roanoke and New River Valleys. Each branch of the trees will be decorated with the names of someone who is being remembered or honored. The Love Light Tree Lighting ceremony starts at 10 a.m. at Tanglewood Mall.
